Venturing along the marian Alpine way

The peace that breathes in sacred places and in the midst of nature

The marian Alpine way is a trekking route that brings together nature, sport and faith, crossing Valtellina all the way to the sanctuary of the Madonna of Tirano, a pilgrimage destination for centuries. Walking the marian Alpine way instils a sense of peace and mysticism. Upon reaching the destination, you enter the Basilica, and it feels like taking the final step to connect with the sacred. Here, where the Madonna appeared, visitors experience an atmosphere of deep contemplation, amplified by the architectural beauty, the frescoes and the solemnity of the wooden organ.

Even those who are not devout have the opportunity to admire the culture and beauty that make this experience an invitation to listen to what resonates with their own sensibility. Because when the human, the spiritual and the natural meet, a particular energy is released, and perhaps a new peace restores us.

Arrival: Piazza Della Basilica, 1 - Tirano
The route offers two paths: the Western Way, from Piantedo to Tirano (90 km), and the Eastern Way, from Bormio to Tirano (72 km).
