Training in the woods and discovering panoramic views over Valtellina and the Bernina group at sunset

Where stillness and vitality walk side by side

There are places where the vitality and energy of movement meet the gentleness of a spring that is slowly waking. Physical activity sets energy in motion, and practising it in the woods, far from mirrors, competition and performance, becomes an authentic form of physical and mental wellbeing. Direct contact with the mountain helps us rediscover a natural balance, made of deep breaths, silences and simple sensations.

Training along the trails that cross the Pian di Gembro Nature Reserve and the Trivigno plateau means immersing yourself in different but complementary environments: on one side the peatland and alpine forests of the reserve, on the other the high-altitude meadows that invite movement and exploration. Here everyone can choose their own pace – running, walking or riding a mountain bike or e-bike – following routes that can be enjoyed individually or combined into a longer itinerary.

Training in nature awakens something deep: an ancestral spirit that takes us back to a time when we were exposed, vulnerable, and all our senses were on alert. At the end of the day, the small church of San Fortunato, set in a panoramic position, becomes the ideal place to stop and admire the Bernina group and the sunset over the valley. In spring, this suspended corner welcomes you with a simple, gathered atmosphere, where the silence does not weigh but regenerates, inviting you to slow down.
